Gifted Education

St Joseph’s Taree is able to provide enrichment opportunities in our everyday learning due to the personalised learning pedagogy in place.

Our focus is on developing clear processes for identifying gifted learners and through effective differentiation, ensuring these learners have the opportunity to be challenged to develop creative and critical thinking skills. We have high expectations for all students, with an increased focus on gifted learners and their needs.

The school’s newly formed Gifted Education Mentor (GEM) and a Gifted Education Committee assist teachers with collating and analysing data, identifying the strengths and needs of students and providing appropriate teaching and learning strategies to meet each students’ needs.

The current refurbishment of the library and learning hub will house two large multipurpose classrooms suitable for science, robotics, and coding. Our STEM programs provide real world problems for young minds to collaboratively solve.
